Police Department Parking Enforcement
In 1994 the City of St. Marys began a new program in parking enforcement. The idea was to convince motorists that parking meters are not all that bad. It's much more cost effective for us to have citizens comply with our parking regulations that it is to ticket them.
Our goal is to issue less tickets and at the same time generate more revenue. This will make for a prosperous and happy city.
Presently we receive very few parking ticket complaints. Our philosophy is treat everyone equally and with dignity! Oh by the way, we have free parking on the following holidays:
New Years; 4th of July; Labor Day; Memorial Day; Thanksgiving; Christmas; Primary Election Day; and General Election Day.
